My 35 engine had a fairly slack pump chain and also my UK30 engine, i dont think thats an issue; unless i have had 2 dud engines

An NC is for life, not just for Christmas!

I don't think there supposed to be tight.. as long as it won't come off the sprocket it should be fine.. every engine i've seen has been like this.. dont' forget, when its going around it'll have more tension on it too.rickyb_dj wrote:i have noticed that the oil pump chain is rather loose, i mean it wont come off the sprocket, but its loose none the less is this normal?

Also the chain is constantly lubricated where it is, so it eliminates premature failure
