Idling issue nc30

Post by vfrjim » Fri Nov 26, 2010 2:45 pm

alright guys need some info ,

my nc30 wont idle it just slowly dies . I assume being that it was from ASM it has been sat a long time either in thier hands or what ever insurance company claimed it off the old owner !

does it need a decent service or is it just old spark plugs causing this issue ?

one more question , im used to 125 2 strokes therefor the engine took no time at all to warm up on choke ...
how long do i leave an nc30 on choke for ? (probably a really thick question i know )

cheers for your time

Jim.

On the left side you should have an idle screw knob behind the choke lever!

When you start it. Give it full choke no throttle!

With full choke it should show 5k on the rev dial or there abouts! If it doesn't just turn the knob clockwise with A screwdriver until you get around 5k. Once warm which does take a few minutes and longer in this weather slowly turn the choke down! On idle once warm it should read about 1000rpm to 1200rpm!

But Jim to be honest I would be looking at giving the bike a full service and checking the carb internals to see what it's running!

Also any holes in the system would cause erratic idling!

Your not far from me, If you have any problems I could pop up one afternoon and give you some help with it.

I had a similar problem recently, were the idle would slowly drop and bike would die. After a carb sync the bike idles greatly
