Hello,

Thank you for your email.
Please look at the attached page from the Honda parts book .

You can clearly see that your R3K model uses a different part no to the other R3L & R3N models.
So they do NOT use the same cable though the range.

Since your phone call i have found out a dealer that has the correct cable in stock (22870MR80000) so i have ordered it for you .

Please return the wrong cable for exchange.

Kind Regards

Keith

Thank you

Even if Honda don't make one anymore you can still make your own clutch cable if you need to, buy the ends and some inner / outer cable and make it to suit.

Although that cable is actually longer than your strange red one, it looks like it should work

If you pull the clutch inner cable all the way forward from one end on each cable and see how much cable 'slack' you actually have, they look about the same, which means that when the cables clamped up (granted its longer) you still have the same throw on the cable.

If the new one has an extra inch of cable sticking out then it's obviously not going to work as the clutch cable wont pull that much.

Honda probably changed the routing on the clutch cable which is why the later one is longer. I should imagine the throw on it would be the same though as they all mount in the same places at the clutch end and from what I can remember and afaik use the same clutch lever.

Did you try the cable rick?

when i tried to route the cable differently and tightened the adjuster to the most tightest it still didnt engage the clutch fully as the internal was longer im convinced this has been packaged wrongly as the part numbers DONT match.

and tbh i wasnt happy with it, i felt i was better off with the wank over stretched old one

People make mistakes bud, if it's been packaged wrong that just makes it harder, especially with these grey imports ;) They've offered you a replacement, so they can't do any more for you
