I'm in the same position as you, marcus. I don't like the idea of drilling through my swingarm, and I don't have the tools/time to do so. And I can't see a way of re-routing the rear brake line without going through the swingarm...

I think this is the perfect solution for me, as suggested by uber pikey. It's probably safer than having no chain guard, plus it looks alot better than the original one, and there's no need to re-route the rear brake line. I think this is what I'm going to go for unless a better solution pops up in the next week or so!

PS: Is it just me or does the angle that exhaust sits make you want to puke?

Hope the link works for you and it's what you are looking for http://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/5845 ... -other/R+G
Thanks alot uber pikey :D Now I'll have to go through their whole website and see what else they do. Hopefully they don't do too much for the RVF - otherwise you may have just cost me alot of money! :P

Oh, my mistake. Thanks for clearing that up. That toe guard looks ugly as shit.

Hmm back to square one again..

I'd like to get rid of the chain guard but I don't want to re-route the brake lines through the swingarm. So unless there's another way to route the lines I won't do this.

I'd settle for a chain guard that is nice and clean, and not as fugly as the original one.

EDIT: Solution: http://www.demonbikes.com/more/on/details/08884
Not cheap, but it's nice ;)

Can anyone explain what the point of a rear hugger is, though? Does it serve any purpose other than to look good?

EDIT2: Skidmarx does one also. http://www.skidmarx.co.uk/section/mudgu ... honda.html

i use dry lube, and with regular cleaning it makes no mess.

:plus: That won't pass a roadworthy (MOT) Jonno. But if that's not a problem for you then I'd go for it. Good enought for the track (more than just a race reg), good enough for the road IMO:

nice one superlite. Is your brake line routed through your swingarm too?

Yeah, but only because I don't need/want a chain guard (race bike). I think HRC released little wire thingies that mount to the swingarm to hold the brakeline for RC30s so you can get rid of the chain guard - can't find any pics of that now
