I did the conversion using the bits from Mike and G-force performance.

I used K7 items too.

I can't say I've noticed it getting hot though as its in behind the faring, it may well be hot in there.

And yes the fitting is a pain especially as just when its almost in the right place the magnetism takes over!

I had a small oil leak on mine the first time i used it but since reseating and sealing it its fine - used it on 3 track days without problem and in road trim with no issues either.

Mine has been fitted for a long time too. Using K5 gear and on my every day roadbike that has had trackdays and even ACU test days thrown at it..

It does not get too hot at the casing but perhaps it is just because the casings will get hot anyways due to heat soak from the 80 degree oil sloshing away in the sump?

Hi Matey hows things,
Mine does get hot, i have not run it on the road only warmed it up on the drive, and the rotor casing was the same temp as the cylinder/crank cases. There doesn't seem to be any odd noises or anything, but the case is very hot to the touch.
Do the standard rotor casings get that hot?
Cheers

Yipppeee,
Thanks Neo, i was hoping you would come back with that
I feel alot more comfortable now about running the motor properly now.
It's one of those things i guess, i have run the engine dozens of times with no fairing and never thought to feel how hot the engine gets

Hot enough to burn yourself on :-)

Still have a scar on my arm where I leaned against the ZXR casings after runing it upto fan on temp before i drained the oil.

for info:

I found mine on German eBay £160 delivered. ;) using the search terms "lichtmaschine K7"

the K7 Rotor weighs circa 618g
the K7 Stator weighs circa 805g

If anyone could provide weight & diameter of the standard NC30 and K5 items I would be grateful
