Gixer rotor conversion?

Hi All,

I have got my bike back together after doing the gixer rotor/stator conversion and have a question

The rotor casing gets fecking hot same sort of temp as the cylinders, i have never really checked the temp like this before on the standard setup, just looked for oil leaks!
Has anyone else done this conversion or does the standard rotor casing get very hot?
FI, it's the Rick O conversion (very very very sweet piece of kit well made and very sexy )

Hi Kris,
No i couldn't find the k7 rotor or stator on ebay, the k5 one is still very light in comparison to standard. The bits of Rick O were £205 posted, and the k5 rotor and stator were £90.
I think that the k7 rotor and stator will be the best part of £200. I am keeping my eyes peeled for them, but they will be in a que after other bits
The engine sure revvs much faster, even in neutral, it flyes up the rev range.
I reckon for the cost of the bits it's a good upgrade.

Hi Kris,
Does your rotor cover get really hot?
I am a little concerned that something might be rubbing inside the rotor/stator.
But then again i might just be paranoid
Do you run the k7 or k5 bits'?

I think it's k7 bits I've forgotten to be honest.

As long as wire is the other side of that metal tab thing, it shouldn't rub on anything! It will get hot though mate mine does!

Cheers Kris, thats reassuring to know.
I found it a real ballache to get the rotor cover on, get the wiring lugs in and the gasket on it the right place.
I will take the bike for a run in the week if it stays dry.

I know, Dave who designed it told me it was kind of a two man job. Someone to hold the wire in place and the other to stop the cover clamping on! I did it on my own too and it was a twat! I think I was on my last attempt before wrecking the gasket! I haven't run mine much but I just keep checking it for leaks and check that the wire Ian letting any water in!

I doubt I will use mine now until next year So if get any problems let me know what to look out for!

Yes i can sure vouch for it being a 2 man job!!
I will try to test it as much as i can, but as it's my race bike, i can only get out if the weather is good and the light is okay as i only have a daylight mot.
If i have any probs i will post them on here
