Lovely moto that one Chief...I am sure it will hold it's own in the Lee garage..

Paul, the bike's lookin real nice.
The R1 reg's are a massive upgrade (a little overkill on a 4) and the cdr6 2008 spoton.
Look up dcelectronicsmotorsportspecialistltd on ebay and treat the bike to some Delphi or similar water proof connectors.
If you get over to the Fiddle for coffee with Mark give us a shout and i will have a ride out.

Just like to add to this thread in saying you have a very nice looking bike there. Also if you keep hiding new honda parts in your attic you will be needing to double up on the roof joists.
And i have found a chap up north who like you dicided in the 90's to buy either new or removed panels from road to race RC30's. as i have bought from him a as new standard exhaust. not cheap at £400. but where can do buy one from? he has 2 brand new exhausts not even been took out of box.
Thought id let you know just incase you ever might need something as he tells me he has got a shed full of parts.

Cheers Simon, and again its thanks to you this bike has come out like this.
Well i got my last order through from DS spares, and finished putting the bike back together today - a final fix if you like. all the nice touches like proper tank rubbers and new bolts here and there.
Everything torqued up and its ready to ride now. adjusted the chain, and levers and bits and pieces to suit.
Only thing i discovered was after fitting new correct headlamp bulbs - that the low beam wouldnt work. yep you guessed it, it had been run with 60/55 bulbs and of course the switch had melted and burned out. stripped the switch to see a melted mess and a "ping" ah so there goes the spring then.
To the rescue was a really tatty spare NC30 switchgear, quick swop of the highbeam plastic switch and slider and jobs a goodun. a working low beam again now with proper 35/60 bulbs.
Only the airtubes secure with a self tapper on each side - which i think is pretty well standard equipment for RVF's on the whole.
So its finished and ready to ride if it stays dry for a bit. One thing i am totaly sure of and i know will wind up the RVF die hards, i will say the RVF quality and fit is no way near as good as the NC30.
Panels are a bit of a pain in the arse to fit / remove compared to the NC30, the NC30 is just that bit easier to work on for most parts (apart from carb removal - the RVF is easier). The NC30 is made just that little bit heavier and chunkier, less rounded edges and far simpler under the skin. The RVF is solid too but typical of that mid 90's build era like the fireblades, nothing wrong with that just not the same as 5 - 10 years before.
So pictures will follow from all angles, but a road test is now in order

Wow, the white wheels look awesome. I'm definitely going to get mine powdercoated after seeing that photo!
Only criticism I have:
- the standard front calipers and rear wheel spacer and nut cheapen an otherwise gorgeous bike. I think gold calipers would make a world of difference.

Cheers Jonno, i was looking for some SP1 / 600RR calipers, however thats for another day i think. I have to say i feel the brakes on the RVF are more than enough so long as they use genuine pads or HH EBC pads although i like the feel of genuine pads. unless your racing i really think the brakes are more than enough for the road.
As for the rear wheel nut, yeah i know what your saying, mine now has the original white plastic cap fitted which hides it a bit.

Will do mine sometime when I have some spare cash (prob not for another year I suspect as my new place is taking most of my monies!).
Do have my mates NC29 to work on over winter though, so looking forward to getting stuck into that one.
