Fuel Tap Setting
Hi
New gk76a RL owner here, 1990.
I lifted the tank and somehow managed to snap the fuel tap off.
I'm hoping a bit of super glue will do the trick but we'll see.
What are the positions for the fuel tap setting?
Is it as follows:
Arrow at 6 o'clock = ON
Arrow at 3 o'clock = RESERVE
Arrow at 12 o'clock = OFF
Can someone please confirm.

Re: Fuel Tap Setting
Hi, 6 0 clock is ON but only when you have vacuum feed to the part at the back of the tap has 4 bolts and pipe connector
9 0 clock is reserve but only with vacuum feed as above ,3 0 clock is pri ( prime) will give flow of fuel without the vacuum feed .

Thankyou for the reply Panda, much appreciated.panda wrote:Hi, 6 0 clock is ON but only when you have vacuum feed to the part at the back of the tap has 4 bolts and pipe connector

Does anyone know if its possible to get a replacement fuel tap? I don't mean the whole unit. The tap is screwed in and you turn it to engage reserve/om/primer. It is screwed in on a single screw and what I really need is just another tap to screw in.

Not sure if it's the same as this http://www.cmsnl.com/suzuki-gsx-r400-19 ... IG-34.html
Think an old gsxr1100 has the same tap, someone on here will know.

Re: Fuel Tap Setting
Thanks Monkers, thats most helpful. From your diagram I am really just after the tap, marked 2. I might take a gamble on an old gsxr1100 tap if I can get a cheap one off ebay.monkers wrote:Here's the page from the manual for a 76a
If anyone does know what bike has the same tap that would be most helpful. I like to think I'm not the only heavy handed idiot who has broken his fuel tap

Re: Fuel Tap Setting
If you go to a Suzuki dealer it will cost you £11. Don't forget to put it on with the screw done up tight or it will drop off when you go riding and even if you walk the 1.2 mile road that you just rode down you will never find it !! Ask me how I know that

I did phone Robinsons about a new fuel tap and was quoted £128 and was quickly on my way as I wasn't going to pay that.
I'll try again saying I want just the tap and screw. £11 is not so extortionate.
Thanks again as I thought I'd have to buy the whole unit.
