Major Problem!!!

Post by pf85 »

I drove through a large puddle (small flooded) part of the road last night but I was going very slow- clutching in 1st gear going through it. It was just up to the collector box in depth..

I drove for about another 2miles, turned the bike off and then when I turned the ignition on about and hour later the problem started! :|

The RPM dial was going haywire jumping all over the clock and when I started the bike it was running terrible. It was spluttering and had no power. I had to hold the front brake slightly to get more power out of it to make it home.

Now when I turn the key there is no power at all. I tried to run start the bike and it did start ok but again was spluttering..

What would have messed up? Any help appreciated :(

mmm,
Sounds like a bad earth/connection.
Have you checked your main fuse 30Amp one in the ignition switch relay?
I had a similar thing happen to my 35 when the reg/rec went kaput. The fuse blew' i could bump it, but it would be really rough.
Can you check the reg/rec?

I would still check the reg/rec as this may be the cause of the fuse blowing ;)
I tend to keep a couple of 30Amp fuses in my pocket, just incase
