Stand still launch technique NC30
Being all to familiar with my previous fuel injected bikes of larger capacities, i am unsure how to treat my NC30, how do you guys launch your bikes from a standstill?
My bike doesn't bog down at all if i just let the clutch out, it just seems too slow when compared to the 125 moped that just went past me, of which 3 seconds later i'd be passing at a fair rate of knots :D

Launching NC30's fast is not easy if it has standard gearing, and very hard on the clutch. If you down gear it it's a lot easier to launch.
Launching RVF's is much easier I reckon because of the lower gearbox ratios. I use about 10-11k rpm for race launch, anything more and it wheelies big time.

I wasn't expecting any replies untill GMT 18:00, but forgot you are in Aus mate, not tooooooo far from me :D
I might jump up a couple of teeth on the rear then, i have new sprockets and a chain, i also have the extra 8 or 10 links to take a larger rear sprocket, 44 is standard right??? A 48 rear would give me what i'm looking for with out having to buy another bike lol :D

Yeah mate, pretty much the same time zone.
I find it easier to go down a tooth on the front sprocket, you won't need to change the chain length. Going down 1 tooth makes a significant difference and much better acceleration.
Changing the gearing will throw your speedo out, I used to get around this by using a digital pushbike speedo with a magnet on teh front wheel, then you can change the gearing around as you please.

The speedo working or not isn't really much of an issue out here in Thailand, as i have never seen a single speed camera or office holding one here, they are more concerned with their "you give me money, top secret" back handers (200 baht = 4 pounds) crazy :S
I think i'll keep an eye out for a smaller front sprocket and be aware that my trip readings won't be the same distance as before :)

If caught breaking this strictly enforced law you will be stopped and finned upto a maximum of 8 pounds!!!
Once i was riding my bike up the road that passes my house, i could see the police had pulled over a few people ahead of me, including an articulated lorry, so i had no choice but to pull out into the middle lane (most dual carriage ways are 3 lanes here).
Bastard pulled me over and told me
P.O "you no go number 2 road"
Me "but you stop car (lorry)"
P.O "Law Thailand"
Me "You make me go number 2 road"
P.O "law Thailand, you not go number 2 road"
Me "number one road can not go"
P.O "Law Thailand, follow me police house give 400 baht (8 pounds)"
Me "I have no documents on me, just photocopies"
P.O "Ok, you give me money...... Top secret 200 baht (4 pounds)"
Sooooo, this 'LAW OF THAILAND' is obviously a strict policy then :D lol

Haha that's crazy. I'm sure if we had an equivalent law over here and it was broken, it'd be punishable by points or death.
Whats the standard front sprocket size on the NC30 by the way? Would going -1 on the front and +2 on the back be ridiculous? Anyone run those sizes?

-1 on the front and +2 on the rear would be great for short twisty tracks, if going by my previous bike's set up helps my opinion. Just -1 on the front should be enough with out too much compromise on top end, as i have recently been told by Cammo :)
