Help !! My bike will not start , checked all the fuel lines etc , finally pulled a spark plug and no spark , absolutely nothing . I have cleaned about every terminal I can find and still nothing , new battery on there and it is turning over like a good 'un but will not fire ,I have noticed that I cant hear the fuel pump priming - would this cause it ?

Now to really confuse the issue , the bike was stood for a week whilst fork seals and steering head bearing were replaced , new battery was fitted and it fired first time ( according to mechanic who did it )- now am I right in thinking that fuel would slowly seep into the carbs etc and possibly allow it to fire . Since then I have not been able to do anything with it , thus leading me to the fuel pump but this still does not explain why I could not see a spark , and my head is really hurting now where I keep banging it against a wall !!!!

Tried both , took the kill switch apart and cleaned all the contacts , and the only obvious earth I can see is the one on the frame under the tank , the bike is turning over and fuelling now but still not catching !

Right, I have had the bike collected now by a local repairer anf they have tested everything and its all pointing to a failed cdi unit , handy !!!! Luckily I managed to get one from the bay off a bike the same age so fingers crossed it will work

The cdi has been swapped over and still no joy , I'm at a dead loss now , has anybody got any other ideas ?

Guys and Gals , I have just had an epiphany so bear with me . When the engine casing was welded the bike was laid over on its side , it was a pig to start when I got it back and was up until it would not start at all - have they a tilt sensor as I am hoping this is what given up ! Failing that it has to be a faulty switch Im missing somewhere !

Which cover did you weld - a picture would help - I have a good idea.

It was the bottom of the crankcase where the sump joins ( fairing bracket mount ) on the front left hand corner of the engine
