Differences between NC30 and NC35 carbies?
Hey guys,
Few quick Q's.. I've read Cammo's guide to carby jetting for the NC30 and was just wondering if there is any difference regarding how the carburettors mount to the bike.. Also:

Also, where should I get the screws and gaskets for the carby from? Can I just take the screws to a fastener shop and buy however many I need, the same size and thread? Any screws the same size will do the job, right?
Lastly, how much is a HRC slide spring kit worth, and is this a worthwhile mod for the road?

Same for NC35?If your bike is standard, set all four to 2 (two) turns out from fully in. If your bike has an aftermarket exhaust or pipe (most NC30’s), set all four to 2.25 (two and a quarter) turns out. Done.

not sure about the emulsion tubes but i don't think they use the same needles.

NO the RVF is different, from what i remember the richen the mix on the RVf carns you screw the screws in and base setting for them is 1 5/8 turns

i think gaskets kits can be bought new from honda at the price of £19, pair carb ( so times that by 4 )

rick o sells ( or did sell ) rep HRC slide springs and a mate fitted them to his bike and he thinks it improved low rev pick-up, so yeah maybe a good job but i've no problems with pick-up on my RVF carbs

Can anyone tell me who will be able to sell me gaskets in Australia for the float bowls? Are there any other gaskets I should buy before pulling the carbs apart?
Is it worth sticking an extra 0.5mm washer under the needle, and buying HRC replica slide springs if I'm only riding on the road? Will these mods make the bike run smoother?..

According to the RVF parts manual the front and rear carbs use different emulsion tubes, the richer ones should go in the rear carbs, if unsure post details of the differences between them when you have the carbs apart. Royster is correct, std rvf pilot screw setting is 1 & 5/8 turns in from fully out.

Smoother? Not necessarily. Best thing to smooth out the engine is a good carb sync. Contact RB's again for this...

Yeah they want $35/carby. x4 = $140 for gaskets! Apparently I heard anyone who sells stuff for Meikuni carbies will be able to provide the right gaskets for much cheaper..Contact RB Racing: http://www.rbimports.com.au/ No other gaskets needed.
Also, should I pay $32 for a set of 4 jets from RB, or should I get them elsewhere? Any idea what brand the ones from RB are? I'm sure they said K&N when I asked, but I don't think K&N make jets..

yes, but i cant remeber whether it is from the start of feeling the spring behind the screw or once it is compressed... wither way be gentle.

Are your existing gaskets leaking? if not you probablw wont need to replace them unless you mash them up.

Haha i see how you are confused. They are quoting Keihin, the carb make. Get these it is a decent price.

I put them in and found it quite beneficial using my bum dyno, depends whether you feel your mid range iis lacking with the new pipes
After that, I plan on putting the carby back in, sticking the new full Tyga system on, and then take it back to RB for a quick dyno..

i've got a Haynes manual, Cammo. Just wanted to make sure I have everything down pat before I take my bike apart and start messing with important components..
Will www.showandgo.com.au have the gaskets cheaper, Cammo? As I said, I'd rather replace the gaskets regardless of whether they are completely gone or not. I'd rather be safe than sorry!
What should I be paying for a carby balance? Can I take the carbs to my local bike mechanic for this, or would I be better off taking it to RB Imports as they are specialists in these bikes?..
