ZXR front end into NC30

Post by wangwang »

Just bought an NC30, this one... viewtopic.php?f=16&t=19416
I'm not sure which way to go with it yet, but it will be stripped and tidied.
Thing is, I have had a ZXR400L front end in my garage for a while, and wondered if it was a big job to fit it to the NC, but using the NC front wheel.

Cosmetic, and at £80 for the Rick Oliver conversion kit, maybe cheaper than re-furbishing the standard ones.

I`ve got a zxr front end on my bike,do not bother buying a fitting kit, just find a spacer that fits under the top yoke, and get taper bearings for nc30(they fit on zxr stem),job done, brakes I`m using sp1 calipers, with 10 mm aly tube to center them in the fork bottoms,I also use the zxr wheel, discs, spindle and mudguard, with sp1 lines and cbr1000 master cylinder.bought some universal 50mm clip ons,job sorted,I still find them better forks than nc30 ones don`t know why but people are saying that they are quite similar in performance.
Parts are quite cheap
bought the forks with yokes for 50 quid
discs 40
wheel 10
clip ons 15(SES aly ones)
spindle 5 quid
calipers 50
mudguard 20
mc 20

Do the maths and see if it`s worth it.
I only went on the zxr route for the looks as it looks odd with nc35 front fairing
And also I think I found the parts really really cheap. Thanks

Thanks, can you remember what size the spacer needs to be under the top yoke?

dude they polish up amazing, just get your self some W&D and scrub down and then get some buffing wheels, once polished you can either lacquer them or just keep on top of them when you come in from a ride ;)
