WHat is the differene between a NC24 and NC21 engine?
Im after a NC24 engine and i know the NC24 has more power, but is the down to the carb setup?
Regards
Richard

Re: NC21 v NC24 Engine
More power?
I think they both make 59ps (60bhp)
There both 180 degree crank engines.
There are internal differences though such as cam profiling, valves, carbs, smoother power delivery on the NC24.
If your after something more comprehensive I can have a look later.

That will do for me,
Im just desperate for an engine so looking at all my options.
I would love a NC30 engine, but that would take a lot of work to fit and i aint got that kind of money

Your going to need CDI / Loom changes with whatever engine you fit..

Re: NC21 v NC24 Engine
NC21 engine would be easier to fit than an NC30, but neither are difficult to change.
Is there a problem with your current engine?

Re: NC21 v NC24 Engine
yes it blown its head gasket, been repaired by previous owner, gone again, vlaves are rusty, rust in cooling system to name a few problems with it. (I am a mechanic and was going to strip and repair but its financially cheaper to buy a 2nd hand low milage engine)Neosophist wrote:NC21 engine would be easier to fit than an NC30, but neither are difficult to change.

If that engine hasn't been killed half to death then yeah it probably is.chownsy wrote:yes it blown its head gasket, been repaired by previous owner, gone again, vlaves are rusty, rust in cooling system to name a few problems with it. Speak to Ngeer on here, he had one forsale recently!
Cooling systems probably had no antifreeze in it, easy to clean out with holts 2 part chemical cleaner (dont use the sand stuff0
They never blow headgaskets usually! I've driven them over 150 miles without a waterpump and they've survived! Sounds like you may have other problems with it if its blowing gaskets.
Rusty valves? Been standing?
Might be worth keeping it for parts and getting a new motor.

Re: NC21 v NC24 Engine
I have 2 engines for spares now :D (previous owner bought it to repair this one, so he destroyed 2 engines)
I intend to (once have money) tune this engine up and either sell it or install it in my bike.
