What size dzus fasteners for NC30 fairing?

Post by Guy Montag »

I have measured 17mm from the bottom of the head to the end, but am unsure if that is how they are measured. What ones do you buy for them? They hold the middle bit to the belly pan and 2 per side.

Cheers

these are what i use from screwfix, or any other fastner,

make sure there A2 (Stainless Steel) and not BZP (Untreated Steel)

http://www.screwfix.com/app/sfd/cat/pro ... 4&ts=25501

£3.15 for 50 of them

Ricky.

They arent Dzus fasteners, He means the locking ones two either side.

And yes, they are 17mm you need, but i also used a nylon washer behind the fastener so it doesn't scratch the paintwork when you turn and lock it!

Dzus are the half turn bolts used on the RC30 and many other race bikes, dukes etc.

You can get them from ebay along with many other fastner shops but you need all the pieces to make them work :-)

Have a look on ebay for Dzus :-) Not overly pricey.. you can get the genuine Honda RC30 bits but your looking at like £25 a fastner and holder... not cheap.

Since your putting them on an NC30 cheaper to get some off ebay :-)

Have a read up on the net how they work, you need to rivet the plate to the rear of the panel and use the bolt part on the front. Not too difficult to use, makes taking it apart easy!

If he is using standard NC30 fairings, the locking system is already riveted to the lower panel, so you just need the fastener.
