If your battery is going flat and your lights are dim your reg/rec and possibly altenator are broken, it's a known and common problem with these bikes, it happens to every single one. messing about with other stuff isn't going to help.
If the bike isn't getting petrol properly i said in one of your other threads the vaccumn pipe is the most likely problem, they turn the tap on when the engine is cranked (even if it is set to on no fuel will come out until the vaccum pipe suck the tap)
Check this isn't broken / split
i understand wot ur saying, but even when i had the bike running its running like crap then cuts out after its warmed up, the vacume pipe wouldnt make it run all thumpy and crap, so dosnt that mean that the carbs might have sh*t init

Re: VFR NC30 Problems
FFS how many times.
Go and buy a new (not second hand ebay one) rectifier and fit that. then come back if its still not right.
a knackered rectifier will cause poor running and a constant flat battery. a few of us on here have had NC30's for many many years and owned many. its a common problem. so listen to what people suggest and try that. the vacuum pipe will stop the carbs filling up as quickly as needed if not right.
Look here are a few main things to check.
1 - rectifier - yes they are shit buy a new one
2 - battery, its might look ok but if it been on the end of a dodgy rectifier, good chance its scrap. buy a new one
3 - gene, if its shorted inside its windings, thats fucked too. get a new one.
4 - vacuum pipe, they get old and collapse. replace if in doubt.
5 - carbs on a stood bike can be a problem. a full proper strip and blow out with air is the only cure.
if none of the above work, sell it and buy a CBR600

How have you come to that conclusion??
Clayton, you have been given advice on the problems with your bike, Why dont you follow them? Why are now thinking it is something else? It has to be process of illimination, you can then isloate the problem and repair it. At this rate your going to have a load of bits and no bike!!
Also if your reading is slightly better than your spelling, go to halfords and get a haynes manual. they help a lot when you need to put your bike back together!!

Quite glad I've been away, this might well have done my head in..
If you think it is the generator - then be prepared to find one of these under the covers..

If you haev nothing like a Haynes manual, then get one. They come up new for £20 or second hand for maybe £12..
It is worthwhile..
