Hi no it was idling at 2500 or it would die away, i took the carbs off as at end of the day they wouldn't have not balanced them etc so I took them off today! (LOVELY SUN! :D ) Took them apart, (didn't touch the balance screws though!!! lol) blasted all airways with compressed air, gave everything a good clean, float heights etc all set and I found the problem! Still doesn't idle perfectly but I'm told they don't ever sound spot on smooth at tick over but anyways, one of the pilot screws was turned all the way in and the others were around 2 - 2 1/2 turns out so obviously I sorted that and adjusted according to the manual so all set at 2 turns out and it ticks over just over 1500 now :)
Front brakes as bedding in nicely as well, just got to change the main jets as for some reason its got 108's in the front and 110's in the back!!!!
I've ordered the UK spec set up of 120's in the front and 122's in the back so they'll go in straight away tuesday or wednesday!
Hopefully everything will be working as it should then......I did wonder why I didn't have much power at top end with throttle wide open........ plus it wouldn't have liked them little 108's!!!!! CRAZY WHOEVER PUT THEM IN!!!!!
Thanks guys and if you have any tips please let me know if I might miss something out when dong the above :(
James

HAPPY RIDING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh yes they did didn't they, manual said that as well, don't have pics right this second, I'll take some when I fit the new main jets.
They might just be RVF cars tbh as the 108 jets look standard from new but the 110's are much newer hence they were changed when attached to the vfr but the carbs were not jetted to spec of vfr, they simple must have added the 110's to do the same idea of the larger rear jets comapred to smaller front ones if you get what I mean, is RVF carbs a good thing or a bad thing though?

Think that makes sense lol

Like someone said, have you tried turning the idler screw down? Failing that, make sure the choke isn't stuck on (check the levers on all carbs are going back in.

Check that the throttle is going all the way back off too.
