Still rather not drill holes in the arm, especially as it is for appearance only, is there any other benefit I am missing? As for taking metal off top and bottom, there are much better (safer) places to do it on the arm.
Has anyone thought of repositioning the brake caliper (on a road bike) and reducing the amount of flexible brake pipe? Having just had a quick look around the backend of an RVF there is plenty that could be done to improve things.

Personally, I think it looks bad having it through the swingarm, but I doubt it'll have and effect on the structural integrity of the arm if there are 2 holes in it.

more to the point cosmetic or not cosmetic where would you run the braided brake cable safely?
i certainly will be removing that horrendous chain guard cover so my nice gold link chain is more visual and better for me to inspect, id imagine the only other way is to use metal p clips and self tapers into the top of the arm? any other options of routing the cable? safely?
(waits for comment to say the chain guard/covers for safety) (and then ill reply have you seen what a chain does when it comes off? that covers not gonna do anything)
