R3N Fuel Filler Cap Colour

Post by jb1000rr »

Hi All,

I need some help identifying the colour of the Fuel Filler Cap that's fitted to a NC30 - R3N in the No 8 Paint Scheme.

On the Japanese Sales brochure, it looks like its a dark grey, graphite sort of colour but it's not clear. The part number offers no help as it doesn't list any colour code, but it is a specific part number for the R3N and only this model : 17620-MR7-027.

All help gratefully received,
JB1000rr

They look closer to a brown colour to me.

Are they painted? Looks like some sort of coating maybe?

:plus: on the horrible brown colour! I polished one once and it was a prick to get the finish off compared to most parts - it is paint, but very thick! Interestingly, I bought a black anodised race filler which quickly faded to brown in the sun! It seems that brown was meant to be

I think it's meant to look like Magnesium, as that colour is similar to the RC30 and 45 kit Magnesium engine covers and side cases that were available. I quite like it.
