NC30 Project - Possible stumbling block

Post by clique »

Right, I've just started my summer project, restoring an NC30 to the road. So far I've redone the wiring harness. Old owner removed alot of this removing the even older owners alarm. Got the engine started, went to sit on the bike to get a feel for what its going to be like to ride and well... I felt like a jockey! I'm only 6ft 2 so not especially tall so I hadn't even given thought to the riding position.

So getting to the point, is there anything I can do to change the riding position to something a little more suited to someone who isn't a short arse :P

Not a lot you can do about it, unless you want to find an RC30!

What about raising the back with a different dog-bone ?

I have this same problem with my NC24, the seat feels about 12 inches from the floor.

:plus: Super cheap fix and will at least get you more comfortable when you've got your feet on the floor.

I'll take a look into raising the back, surely doing that would just pitch me forwards?

While the Tyga seat unit might be a little more suited, I don't feel justified in spending the £300 odd on the seat as the bike may still be too small for me. Chances are I'll man the f**k up and deal with it. Although I'll probably end up following VFRMans advice and getting a bigger bike!

Since you can't become < 5'7 and < 65kg.

This would give you the perfect opportunity for your own project.. make a custom sub-frame, moving the seat higher and farther back :D
