Help Please NC23 questions....

Post by LozVTR »

Hey all,

Im just trying to create my wish list for the new project and I have a few questions.

Front calipers..Are there are direct replacements on standard NC23 forks which are considered better?
(If not il just overhaul my current ones)

Front forks...Im going to keep the standard ones now i think, Any good suggested setup guides. Im 13.5stone so what sort of springs etc should i be looking at + prices?

Rear Shock...Ive heard a few mention the cbr600 rear mod. could someone expalin please + prices again?

Wheels/tyres...Ive got 2 sets of standard wheels so i know im limited on tyre choice, what would be the best bet for road (winter+summer) and track tyres.

Carbs...Any easy tuning ideas, larger jets, if so what sizes etc.

airbox/filter.....as the title suggests really. K&N pipercross green filters which is best?

The bike is already fitted with a full stainless system with a fuel race can, so i know abit of dyno time will be required for setup.

all suggestions and thoughts would be greatly appriciated.

cheers all,

virtual beers all round.

for brakes you can probably swap the sliders for NC30 ones and then have access to the blade and Sp1 style brakes. Am sure this can be done on the 29 but not so sure on the 23...

Wheels use the nc29 or nsr mc21 17inch rear wheel in the 23..better tyre choice

Suspension..graeme france does a linkage kit to suit a cbr600shock(or a namebrand type shock from a cbr600) to suit the 23.
benefits include...fully adjustable shock, extra rear rideheight...25 or 30mms,which will be a must after you fit a 17inch rear wheel
graeme can also supply you with the correct weight springs for the front forks that will suit your weight
that in my eyes was the best thing ever to happen to my 23 they handle wicked

Tuning ideas..dyno
Carb ideas...nc29 carbs fit..which seem to perform more efficently, but it will take time to get a airbox fabricated to suit.
or flatslides..muhahaha
cheers for the beer
