UK NC30 rattle issue
HI,
Im new to bikes to any info would be helpful.
Basicly ive jsut baught an NC30 Uk model and i dont no if im being over the top panicing or if its a "feature" of the bike. See i start the bike up and it seems to be fine. Let it warm for ten twenty minutes fine.. no problems usually. After a restart there seems to be a rattle under the fairing behind the front wheel. If it was a car i'd say pretty much straight away its the tappets... but on a bike i have noooo idea. Even now, every now an again from a cold start aswell i get the rattle for a bit.. it does go away when it seems to be warmed up. The oil seems fine. The bike was stood for six months before i got it and to be fair i havent changed the oil yet. ( i have my test in three weeks so didnt know if it was worth doing). See i only take it around the block for now as i cant legally ride it just to keep the battery going etc.
Any help appreciated
Andy.

Re: UK NC30 rattle issue
the wee v4 engine does tend to be quite "tappity" but it may be worth doing the valve clearances. what mileage is on the bike?
if its been stood for 6 months, personally, i would run the engine to get the oil warm and moving then do an oil filter change. its gonna do more harm than good if you leave it in!
get some pics up too mate, always nice to see a UK bike :D

OKay mate thanks pal. Ive just got some oil tonight. So im gonna drop it and put that it. Ive checked the oil again last night seemed very low.. well to be fair seemed empty.. cant see any oil leeks. Anyways going to top it up in minute and run it in.
Uk bike, i didnt realise they were that sort after, when i first seen one i pondered an import due to having Import CRX's for years, and they were streets ahead of the UK model. Anyways i came here and turns out im worng then lol. Why is that?.. or should i do some searching?
Anyways ill try and get some pictures up later :D
Cheers
