NC35 running like a bag of nails. not revving
Hello well i got my NC35 and it has gone from love and happiness to hate and despair in less than 24hrs!
it behaved impeccably on the test run but after about 2 miles this afternoon something went badly wrong. It has stopped reving under load and doesnt rev cleanly with the clutch in, but it is a lot better.
I babied the bike back home and it coughed, spluttered and kangeroo'd all the way home it went a bit like rev to 2k cough rev to 2.5k splutter die abit rev to 4.5k cough rev to 2k i thought i was heading for a whiplash injury!
It will start sit and idle and rev at a standstill but try and move and it all goes wrong.
Im going to start stripping the bike apart tomorrow the carbs are going to be my first point of contact but is there anything else i should be looking at? would a bad earth cause this, coils, cdi (horror).
completely cheesed off i knew i was buying a doer upper but it seemed like is was all cosmetic
Regards
Tam

Carbs would be a good first port of call, possibly fouled plugs

Re: NC35 running like a bag of nails. not revving
well ive whipped of the mid and lower fairings and was just getting to the fuel tank and i think i may have found the issue. it appears as though the undertray/battery box has dropped and in doing this has clean broke through the neg battery wire where it meets the connector.
the battery cable must of been the only thing holding the undertray up for awhile as the cable is looking slightly fatiugued. good god im going to continue through the bike to see if i can find any more issues before firing it up again because i hate thinking you have everything sorted going out getting 2-3 miles down the road and having to limp the bike/push the bike home.
the clean up operation has been pushed forward a few weeks
