A quick search on google for a review and here is what i got:
"Armstrong Pads, using J.I.S. (Japanese Industry Standard) components, utilize the latest material compounds available. Armstrong Pads offer a proven formula of serious braking performance and longevity, serious pads at serious money".

At least, that's the claim. Unfortunately, spending 80's money on a set of brake pads gets you brake pads with 80's performance.

I thought the wet weather lag was a thing of the dim, distant past til I was unfortunate enough to ride a Yamaha Diversion 600 fitted with these pads. The performance of these pads could well explain why the Divvie came with some serious front end damage!

Whilst they performed OK in the dry, nothing special but adequate, in the wet they turned the clock back to the days of "squeeze and hope", with an agonising two second pause before anything happened in the way of retardation.

I stripped down the calipers to check for problems (none - clean and free moving) and pulled the pads out. I had never heard of them but a quick web search turned up one dealer selling them for a tenner a pair.

Your life is worth more than saving the price of a couple of pints of beer. Only one verdict - avoid!
I really was lucky them

for value for money and good stopping power i hate to say - but genuine pads everytime.
:o i think i got the only decent pair made by the sounds of it
There all the same :P I don't think your using them hard enough... Let me take it for a spin around cadwell and see how they do :D

Like I said, a lof of it really does depends on the rider and riding style. Hence the divide in opinion.

Oh and if its raining.. I forgot about that part :)

seriously tho , im shocked at these pads , my new ones arrived from gav today (ferodo) and pulling out these armstong pads i couldnt belive that they were micrometers off the backing plate, ive worked out i put them in on 04/04/2010, and i mainly use my bike for work commute and the odd hack inbetween, i wouldnt say im an aggresive rider at all, i do like to go quick along a certain stretch of road between here and work but usually just pootle along with the traffic, ive think in that time ive clocked up around 500 miles tops, :o

Im going to buy some thicker soles for my boots - use my feet to slow me down to help lengthen the life of the pads :P

Lol and no you're not taking it for a spin around Cadwell

Hi,
I think i got armstrong pads in my nc30 (i cant remember. i got them from david silvers two year ago). They seem fine by me, brake great, and make an ace noise!!!
They done a couple of thousand miles now and still have plenty of pad left, but im not a really heavy braker. The only bad thing i could say is that there a bit crap in the wet till they get some heat in them.
I have totally rebuilt the front brakes tho, so it may help.
Cheers
Ian

I don`t think that Armstrong actually manufacture those brake pads, they just market a line that they buy in.

Five years or more ago I used to sell Armstrong pads - they were cheap as chips, had brilliant performance and looked as though they were rebadged Carbon Lorraines - then sudddenly they changed supplier, different boxes, different appearance and the most short-lived, abrasive pads that I`d ever met. I haven`t used or supplied them since.

A friend fitted a set to his RC30 along with new (luckily non-OE) discs and the whole lot, pads and discs were completely trashed in the duration of one Snetterton trackday.

Lucas, I think your luck was to buy some very old stock!

That clears a few things up Rick! Along with what I said already plus I didn't add that I got caught out in a massive downpour last summer and they good. Going by what people have mostly said I think I was very lucky but won't be buying any again! Stick to EBC HH with my bikes
