Re: Banoffee's NC30
Steve, can i ask, are you enjoying the NC30 more than you ever thought you would, or would like to admit to ? one of your fav bikes yet by chance ?
curious to hear your feelings on NC ownership.
I see myself like you, got other bikes, but there is something quite special about the NC that i cant explain,.

Re: Banoffee's NC30
Absolutely love it. A lot more than I expected to as originally bought it as a winter runabout. It gets used on crappy roads but gets cleaned and well looked after.
So much better engine-wise (and in other ways) than the GSXR400 I had some time ago, and that's from me a big Suzuki fan
It's a keeper!

Re: Banoffee's NC30
Just been out for the first ride since the latest mods and also first one of the year with jacket, jeans and summer gloves
Bike goes like a rocket with the K&N, HRC-2 map and the carb rubbers tightened up and seems to be fuelling right (no flatspots and less sooty in the tailpipe but will of course get another dyno run at some point). Also, the tacho is now pretty much spot on after tweaking the setting on the Ignitech CDI. Well pleased

Re: Banoffee's NC30
Definitely!
Just a quick update on the mods so far:
Goodridge hoses
the 20yr old OEM ones visibily bulged, combined with new EBC pads and of course fresh fluid these really sharpened up the brakes
Sprint steering damper
mainly for bling factor. partly as am paranoid after last track experience without one! upped it a few clicks after jacking the back end up
Renthal HA +2 rear sprocket
pull away and acceleration particularly in 1st gear much better in my opinion
Fuel stainless 400mm oval can with shortened baffle
sound (but not too loud), looks, weight saving, feels like it's released some power. ok mainly the sound!
116 / 118 DJ main jets
based on research and experimentation, feels pretty much spot on now with the K&N
K&N air filter
intake noise, performance reputation, easy/cheap to clean+oil rather than bin each time and was running rich so bunged one in which has worked a treat
Ignitech CDI with HRC map less 2 degrees
fancied trying one, geek factor, feels much zingier. I lowered the redline slightly though, call me paranoid! also used it to correct the tacho reading to be more accurate
R.O. earthing upgrade kit
fitted mainly out of interest as was ordering some other stuff and a cheap mod that couldn't really do any harm
LED sidelights and alloy stem bung
both simply because I could and the standard ones are shite
Jackup linkage
8mm shorter = approx 30mm higher. looks, suits my height better and hasn't cocked up the handling
Removed some stuff
weight saving and looks - passenger footrests, luggage hooks, exhaust heat sheild
Up next will be BT090s and H4 bulb conversion I think.

Re: Banoffee's NC30
Really nice bike Steve with nice mods, you not tempted getting a half or full system?
