it seems fine, mine doesnt slip all the way on the front headers either, but it doesnt blow at all. If you look at the top pic you can see the shoulders on the pipes, i think they are longer than the thickness of the plate so your never going to get it flush on the rear headers, might be worth asking deviant if he had any probs fitting it, i have noticed your using plastic threades nuts. I found they are crap coz there slightly rounded at the top and are quite tall. try using flat nuts, you might get more threads on the bolts.

ok cheers for the help. i'll have a go at re fitting it soon. its not blowing so thats good, i just dont like how close it is to chain and swingarm and footrest.

nice and loud though gives a lovely raspy sound.

only problem is the can has been opended up at some point and all the baffle has been taken out bar a fabric one thats loose inside. so its pretty fruity.

You should be able to bolt on the rear section much more than that. The threads are about 22mm long.

Are you still using the gasket rings in the exhaust manifold? Depending on your system you might need to remove these.

The system looks fine, shouldn't be any fitting issues.

Yeah, judging by the amount of thread showing on the rear headers, I'd say that the headers aren't seated in the manifold properly. Fit the headers into the manifold, then fit the plate and gently tighten the nuts. Fit the rest of the exhaust and check for clearance issues. Then torque the rear header bolts up. Some flanged nuts will help no end too.

It doesn't look as though you're using flanged nuts? Best to grab some M8 flanged nuts.

This will affect how true it sits on the exhaust manifold (yours isn't sitting square!).

Have you replaced the gaskets,More importantly have you removed the old ones,because the double thickness will cause you problems.

ok so flanged nuts are a good bet.

and yes it isnt sitting straight that was the problem.
we didnt take the manifold off but we replaced the gaskets.
when i've got some time i'll have another go.

Don't forget you might need to remove the gaskets if proper nuts don't help you much.

If it fits without the gaskets but won't seal properly use a bit of silicone.

been reading thru and just to let you know i never fitted the system to my bike , bought from abrmoto and cleaned up and had some small welds done (the neat tidy ones ) while we were sorting that i bought an ethos and fitted that instead, while fitting that i ordered gaskets , 2 types , the gaskets for the front headers and the manafold to join to the cylinder heads, they are 3 times thicker than the gaskets to join the rear half to the manafold , these are simply rings and not the same as the ones with the cloth type stuff in, dig around in the ports for the manafold to ensure you removed the old ones, (on mine i thought there was no gaskets in there till i poked about with a tiny screwdriver and out popped 2 wafer thin rings)
also once the ethos was fitted there is a gap between the 2 plates bout 5mm at least i assume it would be the same on the yamma
