Re: Shim source?
a bike shop - the shims are fairly universal. IIRC 3 of the 4 use the smaller NC syle shims we use. It might be Kawasaki who use enormous ones. <<< someone correct me please
Just take a shim to the bike shops and you will get it sorted tomorrow.
might be robbed on price but if you need it now...

Re: Shim source?
hey lasse,
when i did my shims when i was living in ireland i had to order them off wemoto so they took a few days to arrive.
i did live in rural county sligo so there was no local bike shop, but there is a lot of bike shops in Dublin, so you should be able to find out. best one i dealt with while in Dublin was place, and i cant remember the name of it, it was something like mountyjoy motorcycles, near the Camden Deluxe night club
i also spent to time out in Skerries so extreme45 was good too. with Martain passing away i am not sure if it is still open?

Re: Shim source?
You need to knwo what shims you need before you go buying loads mate.
Get the heads of adn measure it all - it may be that you don't need any and you can swap the shims between the valves.
I had 3 motors on the go at once and only bought 5 or 6 shims...everything else was swapped and sorted that way.

Rick Oliver also does them on a 1-for-1 basis plus £1 to him eg if you need 3 shims you send him the 3 you don't need plus £3 and he'll send you the ones you need in return.

Re: Shim source?
I'll recommend wemoto. I ordered some parts monday lunchtime and they were with me by 2pm the next day. Thats with delivering them to my bases mail room and mail room getting in touch with me. So that is pretty good delivery service

Re: Shim source?
That is weird, my shims are all larger than what they have on the wemoto site. Mine are 2,39, 2,4, 2,45

Re: Shim source?
I had the same issue. I got some from David silver.. but they where expensive. I got some from a chap on ebay which where alot cheaper and quicker delivery.. 1-2 days i think.Lasse wrote:That is weird, my shims are all larger than what they have on the wemoto site. Mine are 2,39, 2,4, 2,45
