Re: "new" guy looking some help and advice. nc29.
if you had asked a week ago... i had all the front off my bike and could have taken all sorts of pics!
if memory serves me right....
the LHS switch gear wire comes down between the LHS fork leg and headstock, there is (was?) a re-usable cable tie on the main stay(dash bracket) that keeps that side in, they then continue under the dash and to the left under the LHS headlight and plugs in to the main loom above the LHS indicator. on my bike i have a piece of metal with odd square shapes cut out, each connector plugs through this (sandwiching it) which in turn it clips on to the LHS of the nose cone above the indicator.
the RHS switch gear also rund down between the fork leg and headstock, gets cabled tied to the main stay, under the dash and follows the same route to its connector on the LHS of the nose cone.
side light and headlight bulb block runs up the middle of the headlights and over the top of the (OvO) headlight bracket (keep yer brains out the gutters!) and down the side of each headlight and curls under to plug in to lights, the indicator wires also follow this route. headlight relay sits top right of the dash

Cheers lp when i get home i'll run the wires that way and hopefully it'll sort a lot me it out.
On a plus side i had the bike running for the first time after a bit of winding. It sounds really good with the gf road system on it. I look forward to winding it out on the open road.
I'll try and get some pictures me it when the body work goes on to show you what i'm working with.
Cheers again for the help so far guys

Re: "new" guy looking some help and advice. nc29.
i knew i should have kept my trap shut.
a few parts came in for it and i started fitting them, cheers guys.
one thing that arrived was two rad brackets,so out i went and removed the two bits of metal that were used to hold the rad when the ramair kit was on it,i'll be honest it took a few moment to figure out which bracket went on which side but i got them screwed on then tried to offer up the rad, which does reach the brackets.
i checked to make sure everything was right, the brackets couldn't be mixed up and on the wrong sides, that the fan wasn't hitting the head again and it wasn't the wires getting cough up on the sides of the rad.
then it struck me, the bloody rad hoses have been cut short to accomadate the rad being lowered for the ramair, the reason i think this is ;
the right hand hose looks like it's been chewed short rather than cut with anything sharp.
the rad wont reach the brackets
there is a weird join in the left hand pipe near the header, very strange !
not to worry i'll pick up some rad hoses sooner or later.
i got the left hand side bodywork fitted and my first impressions are , holy shit it's wide, well, it's wider than my VFRs ! i have some G.A.Y. stickers to remove first then i'll get you guys some pictures. the right hand side will have to wait until i get rad hoses as the hose fouls the bodywork.

Re: "new" guy looking some help and advice. nc29.
Sorry to hear about your troubles
Its really annoying when a job which you think is going to be fairly easy turns out to be a mammoth pain in the back side. I had the same today trying to fit a single seat bodywork unit and failed
(will be asking on here for advice)
Still, if everything went easily and was straight forward im sure you wouldn't enjoy it so much

i knew it had problems when it got it so to be honest i'm not really surprised just one more thing to get my hand dirty doing, deep down i love it really.
as a pick me up here's some pictures of it and how it's looking now, once i get it sorted and some funds built back up time for a respray.
and how it's going to look when i'm done.

i think that colour scheme should work well with the black frame, swingarm and forks ,and i'm thinking red wheels not black ....
what do you think guys ?
does it look worth the hassle ?

Are those heel guards on the right way round? Rhory, do you need a headlight surround?

about the ramair tubes, i was going to get them done in black but have seen carbon fibre ones on ebay, i like the thought of them but i'm not sure how it would look with the frame and bodywork, we'll see. i'll not be getting them any time soon !
