Re: NC29 wont friggen start
Hi Guys, got a chance to have another look at the bike today, Still not running though grr.
What ive done
Put Battery on Optimate and its fine, when im working on her anyway i hook up my booster box charger so it doesnt drain the bike battery with constant attempts to start her.
Checked kill switch, side stand, false neutral etc. stripped kill switch cleaned terminils. nope no go.
checked wires from ign control unit to coils all ok.
checked HT leads for firmness into fittings all ok checked for spark at plugs , number 1 no spark moved HT lead from number 1 position on coil to number 2 hey spark whilst doing so i noticed that coil for number 1 & 4 gets really warm so im assuming this could be the route of my trouble 1 & 4 aint friggen working hence she trys hard to go and then almighty boom out the back.
Havent got the equipment or the savvy to check coils out etc so will nip down to local bike place and get them checked.
I only fitted this set about 200 miles ago they were recon ones from GF (not slating GF btw) i still have old set and suspect the same with them as in 1&4 not working. could there be another problem that is making this happen .
So if when i get them checked if 3&4 of both sets are ok can i make a set out of them ???
Cheers guys any further advise welcome

Re: NC29 wont friggen start
Hey mate.
Had probs with mine just recently, but it was my ht leads not the coils.
Anyway, the only ht leads i found were a set off ebay which came with coils, to cut it short i have a spare set of coils here which i assume are in working order ( as the auction said)
If you need a set just drop me a pm, cheer's

Re: NC29 wont friggen start
Cheers for the offer Craigb but glady i dont need em. After much hair pulling and teeth grinding i found the fault.
i decided that the coils etc were ok so took a mad moment and took out the plugs threw them at the neighbours cat stuck in some nice new ones and vroom up came the dead engine. I had discounted it being the plugs from the start as they were only new about 100 miles ago but hey ho thats bikes for you eh, so now its all done gave it a test ride and its so sweet i want it for me and the mrs can get another one lol.
Once i get some pics up loaded to some where i will link em to here, but for now this is what ive done to it.
Complete re spray of original plastics Black with a silver fleck looks great in the sun.
New chrome graphix from Mark Brooks, fantastic bloke cheers m8
Wheels powder coated black EPS glasgow
Polished front forks.
Braided hoses front and back
CBR 600 Shock
K&N air filter
Mini carbon indicators front n back
Heated grips (she gets cold hands lol)
New polished Blade heal plates
and probably lots of other wee bits that ive forgot lol
Pics now up in grafix section
