nc30 vacuum hose length?

Post by pugparcels »

Title says it all really, should the vacuum hose be a set length or would an extra couple of inches make a huge difference? the extra length would prevent the hose kinking and allow for extra movement in the tank when fitting / removing.

the reason i ask because when i sell a concealed wc cistern ( i sell / design bathrooms ) the pneumatic siphons work via being pushed down the hose from the push button and we always reccomend the shorter the hose the better to get easier flush, is this the same sort of basis on the vfr or because the engine is doing the work and it is a constant i.e always sucking / in operation when the engine is running the length is not going to make a huge difference?

should it also be the correct type of hose? or would pretty much anything work as it is only moving air?

i replaced mine not long back with a braided type (cloth braid over rubber hose)
from halfords it was a fuelline but was to thin for the tank but was a perfect match for the inner diameter of the vac hose , i cut it a bit longer than the standard line for the same purpose of a better route and ease of tank removal, verdict , no probs , bike runs ok

The length of hose makes no difference Whatsoever.

just so it's not to long that it will kink and restrict operation.

Mines longer than standard too and I dont have any problems with it, just make sure whatever type of hose you use that its heat resistant.
