i have a rear padock stand that came with my bike, and i can get that on and off on my own easily, what the apeal of the abba stand?

Try servicing your rear hub assembly with your stand fitted! :D
The Abba stand can fit just about any bike and is much more solid than a single sided paddock stand.
To raise the front wheel you can get another stand from Abba to do just that or jack it up using a car jack.
Abba stands are money very well spent.

to lift the front just a wee bit of lift with a scissor jack (i use one from an olc micra i thnink!!)
