hybrid rebuild starts again!! NOW FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

after the disaster with the other frame(bent),ive finally got my original frame powdercoated and am now slowly peicing together what was once my bike..subframe and loom are now back in thier rightfull place as is the thundercat motor,swingarm,temporary shock(to keep it mobile in the shed) and some rr forks in place for the same reason.the original sp forks have been ground and rechromed by philpotts as they were pitted and i had to change the seals at least once a year (always two days before a track day and i mean always!) and now just need putting together with some new seals and fresh oil and slider bushes. ive bought some 3ohm dynacoils to beef up ignition and lucked on a set of 4 iridium plugs for 20 quid.bars and yokes are on all freshly powdercoated black and look great.all brackets and stuff has also had a powdercoat to refresh the the salt corroded originals.all head/swingarm/suspension bushes/bearings have been replaced and all the fasteners/nuts/screws replaced with a4 stainless.i was given a slightly battered arrow can from mates k7 gixer thou which will be modded to fit.new grips(bastard to fit ),picked up a brand new thundercat alternator casing for 15 quid just to top things off.just waiting for the resprayed boywork to come back and i hope to have a functioning scoot in about 10 daysif all goes to plan.will post some pics whe the bike looks abit more intetresting!

What colour bodywork are you doing and did you go for Ade's frame in the end ?

boring i know but its being sprayed in its original 1990 sp colours but with a black instead of white mudguard and black wheels/frame.i did consider a fag/team/ replica but i really like the red/white/black original colours and wanted to keep the bike nice and understated if you know what i mean.and i did do a deal with ade for the frame so cheers for that boris.

now i'm waiting for pictures of this with great interest. i was in the process of turning my one into a track only bike as i was convinced that i'm not bothered about riding on the road this year.

Then the first subtle showings of spring appear, superbikes back on the tele etc and with my other bike sold last october i only have my TJ left.

So, catch 22 question, who done the respray and how much? At the very least i need my top fairing sprayed but the whole thing could do with a repaint at some point.

still gotta sort out a rear caliper as mine is minging but might have to rebuild and use it.need to sort out the coil connections so will be busy slodering tommorrow night.resprayed fork legs coming back friday so i can build the forks up and adjust the head bearings and the chassis is done,the forks have wp internals in them so need no further work.will post some more pics up when it looks abit more interesting.
