Re: cbr600 wheel conversion
I think a 180 would mess up the handling,a 160 is fine.

greggo greggo greggo...
read the rules. first it is legal as long as its not lighter then stock and is of the same make. ie my cbr900rr rear wheel is perfectly legal. 2nd. the 165 profile slick is RECOMMENDED from bridgestone to be used with a 5.5 inch rear rim, but there 2nd choice is a 5 inch (its on there website). 3rd. byrnes has been running a 180 rear all last year and won the championship. iv'e ridden his bike and its the best handling 400 iv'e ridden by far.
i measured up all different rims and the 900rr was the easiest to fit. i think its off a 98 model. anyway, 5 spokes, 17.2cm across the hub (from memory). the hub is basically identical to the 400rr i think there's possibly 1mm difference. machine down the outside of the sprocket carrier and the inside. you'll have to make up 1 new spacer for the left hand side. grind down the cush drive rubbers to suit how much you took off the carrier. use std 400 spacer on the right hand side. my wheel spun better with the dust seals on the wheel taken off. and i put 1 washer under the brake disc, it just seem to like it better. the axle is the same diamiter.
if you want to fit the 180 rear on the nc29, you need to remove any rear hugger and space the sprockets out 5mm or so.
