Advice on ebay plastics

Post by Eggy »

Hi All, Has anyone had first hand experience with the full plastics kits from Hong Kong on ebay such as these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/COMPLETE-FAIRING- ... dZViewItem
or these:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/FOR-HONDA-VFR-400 ... dZViewItem

Another option I'm cosidering is:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/HONDA-NC30-SUZUKA ... dZViewItem
So again does anyone have experience good or bad they can pass on, it's a lot of money to pay if it's duff kit :(

Any advice appreciated.

There is definitely someone on here that bought one of those kits, I forget who though!
The general feeling seems to be, that they're pretty decent for what they cost!?

there are complete OEM fairing kits going for that price now on ebay anyway, granted they will not be the same immaculate finish.
some report problems with the mid section fairing and the nosecone not mating properly OR ELSE the decal crossing the mid and lower fairing not mating up right

Guys

I have one in the post from motofairings (china) on ebay.

Will be giving a full write up on here once it arrives and is on, but if you're thinking of buying in the meantime I would be very clear in your instructions and get lots of photos sent BEFORE posting, as if there is anything wrong and you need to send back the seller usually wont cover the postage back to HK, China, wherever!

Mattyboy also had a West VFR400 paint job from the same guy, but apart from a few inital photos, we never heard much more about it.

Like everyone says it's never going to be OEM quality, but for about £300 for newly painted plastics i think its worth a go...

Thanks for the info guys, eltel does that look as good in real life as it does in the photos? I'm in no hurry as I binned it in 2003 and it hasn't really turned a wheel since! I will be interested to see your experience billnit, thanks again.

Hi, looks better in the flesh. The paint is a bit thin though, but for the money you can't complain.

Yep i bought one of these from moto fairings you would pay the same if not a bit more just to have your bike sprayed so not bad i had a few problems fitting it like some of the lugs was missing and where the mid fairing panel sections join the top fairing i had to drill two holes each side of the bike for it to attach otherwise it would have just flaped about in the wind also the center lower front v piece i had to make up a bracket because the lug was missing the paint job they do is ok but after all said not bad for the price if you are prepared to do a little fabricating and redrilling of some mounting holes.

Mine arrived on Friday well packaged, as mentioned there is 3 lugs missing ( 1 on rear 'H' section for rear lights and 2 on righthand side lower for the 'V' piece).
I have just spent most of today fitting them but ive runout of nuts & bolts I will if I get chance post some pics tomorrow if your interested, to be honest you get what you pay for so dont be expecteing OEM for this money, there OK I suppose but paint is a bit thin for my liking personally.
