Excerpt from the aussie regs:

"All lateral covers/engine cases containing oil and which could be in contact with the ground during a crash, must be protected by a second cover made from composite materials, type carbon or Kevlar , or be fitted with heavy duty crash resistant end cases made from solid metal. Plates and/or bars from aluminium or steel are also permitted. All these devices must be designed to be resistant against sudden shocks and must be fixed properly and securely. Bonding alone is not a suitable method of mounting."

Doesn't have to be so pretty just robust and functional would do, just like the rest of your gear.

Robust and functional,I like that,heard worse.I hope we are getting better,its hard work building a business at the moment.Part of it is knowing what people want,and developing a range of items in a fairly short space of time.I was thinking they could be cast cheaper than machined from billet.An MDF pattern would do for our foundry people.How about if someone made the pattern,I stumped up for the castings,and Blueflag made the drilling jig? See if we could get a forum project completed.

Drilling jig sounds like the easy bit! Count me in Carl.
BTW I reckon I'd take robust and functional as a compliment any day. I seldom do pretty, delicate stuff!

Could the casting have a register?So it keys onto the case,if you know what I mean.
