Tank dent repairs?
How do you go about repairing a dent in your tank, its a fairly biggish one near the seat. Looks like someone smashed their bollocks into it
Chers in advance.
Chris.

Bodyfiller.
I had a huge one on the left hand side of the tank.
I bodyfilled it and had a neihbour (who convientently is a sprayer) just finish it off for me so it goes with the contours of the tank.

Try these guys if you got a bit of cash.. http://www.specialistdents.co.uk/services1.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Prices start at £75 if I remember rightly. Shame they cant give an exact quote as with postage it could go sky high.

At £75 you would be cheaper buying a second hand tank off eBay.

Hi Chris,
You would usually cut the base out and then beat the tank back out and then tig the base back in. If iys not too bad you can use a puller thats screwed to the bent and then you bang it back out fill and paint.

Make sure you do not use a puller that welds rods onto the tank as it could blow up.

\That wee smilie can drink some Guinness. No wonder he's yellow.

You can fill the tank with water and then weld it. It won't explode then.spooky wrote:Make sure you do not use a puller that welds rods onto the tank as it could blow up.![]()
