Post by sh4d0w0lf » Sun Feb 14, 2010 4:25 pm

Hey guys first time in the fzr section but here goes...

Will a single headlamp fzr400 3tj headlamp fit in a fzr600 91 single headlamp bike?

Cheers.
Adam.

Yes - but the twin £TJ only takes Yamaha bulbs which are about £20 each.

It also fits TRX850, FZR1000RU and some Bimotas

looking at the parts diagrams the 92 3he fzr600 looks very similar also the szr660 looks like it would fit too and like boris said the fzr1000ru and trx850 might be worth a look as well.cant tell from the part numbers on this one as there seems to be some nubers missing on the diagrams, but im sure ive seen a 3tj healight assembly on flea bay this week.

They do indeed. Has a twin unit in my TRX, however, 'tits on a fish' tried not to get caught in the dark to often, was like riding at night with sun glasses on. Aesthetically, it was far better than the original.

You don't get looks and functionality !!!

I had a look at a headlight and the only way I found to make it better is by replacing the lamps ... but you'd have cut the back off install the new lamps and make good ... which is a bit to much hassle

I replaced my twin projector with the single H4 type. You can also get another style with single filament projector and single filament main. These tend to be on german imports and I'm not sure if you'll need to do anything for the MOT.

all of these FZR single headlights are interchangeable. The single H4 version requires a different power connector and also has a pilot lamp built-in.

I always wonderred about the German lights and if they dip straight up/down - I might try and find out at some point.

The standard 3TJ projectors don't have much silvering inside them ... I was tinkering with the idea of getting some new projector lamps from the Bay and installing HIDs ... but fuck that I'd just a soon go slower at night
