The Mx practice day was much like a trackday really (but only cost £25) you are split in to 3 groups and get 20 minute sessions and they just try and fit in as many as they can. The conditions weren't great and the mud you see on the bike comes from 3 20 minute sessions. So far I suppose I've spent about £500 on top of buying the bike but that has included all the kit (lid, boots, goggles, trousers, shirt, gloves, knee pads, body armour, kidney belt, camelbak, bead breaker, stand, tyre levers, jet washer, etc) which will largely be 1 off purchases with any luck, or at least for some time, which to be fair isn't too bad considering I have an alpinestars jacket for the road bike that retails at £290 alone, infact thinking about it I'm not sure I want to know how much my road kit cost.
The Cr500 in the 250 chassis by all accounts isn't as terrifying as you might expect according to Jason - but that said hes a bit tasty on a crosser. He was talking about selling the cr500 hybrid after riding the Ktm as he likes the idea of the road registered bit and was suitably impressed with the 200, but I think he would be going for either the 250 or the 300 2 strokes instead.

Re: Rileys Nc30 special
ah fair play sounds fun, all my mates at uni have just had their 2k grants come through and have all bough 150cc pit bikes and go tearing up fields each weekend on them but unfortunately as I did A-levels im not eligible for it, my mate races british mx2 and even at that level he said its cheeper than my club racing, £65 for a national level entry fee tyres that last for ages and you dont rinse £500 in damages ever time you lay it down
