Gota agree, prefer how it was especially as it was modded to start with. Got a similar thing going on on my bike all be it in race guise. fair play for trying something new though. If you don't try you never know if it'll work.

I like it with a but. The seat foam looks too thick. I like the lines of the seat unit, the original looks too chunky.
How hard can it be?

Don't listen to the inebriated primate or the fat bastard with the banana cream pie.
Not bad. It's always hard to know how it will look until it is on, and it will always polarise opinion amongst the purists.
Heck, based on some of the comments on this website I expect there are a lot of 400GB riders out there wearing parachute pants, purple doc martins, spiked hair and a denim vest.
Personally I think the line and length look spot on, its the depth that seems a bit off, It would be good to see it with the pillion perch or cowl on it and matching or finished paint.
Now that I think i've successfully offended everyone on this site based in the UK I shall now away to a BBQ to do my best impression of a fat lecherous middle aged drunk.

Looks to fit quite well. I'd like to see it with a pillion seat/cowl on it too before I decide though.
So what did the seat unit come off

Looks pretty good I reckon.
Is that an RC45 fibreglass seat unit in the before pic??? Looks big.

Yep.That was a RC45 seat unit, that is the reason why I wanted to chage it.It was too chunky.
The seat cowl came from yamaha r1 5jj 2000-2001 model, the seat came from r1 4xv 98-99 model(it is narrower with 2 inch now),undertray from r1 5jj,original battery box chopped to fit, exhaust bracket home made:).
I think I will paint the whole bike in a different colour because I need to repair few of them.
I will sort out a fairing or something for the open areas under the tank.
Now I need a rear seat and the catch and is almost finished.
Thanks
