So... Not been around for a while... thinking of track days

Post by DrDomRob »

Hey All,

I've not been around for a while, but over the last few months I have been persuaded that doing doing track days would be fun. I've been looking for a reason to break out the baby gixxer from it's crash induced garage hideaway.

I need to sort the carbs (oh joy) but otherwise she's running, my question is to those of you who race / do regular track days... How expensive is it to put the bike back together after a spill (From a parts point of view).

get some crash sliders to stop the engine cases getting damaged, they are vunerable.

and expensive, but can also dig in and cause more damage than they save, I run them with the view that if it's a slow off, it will hopefully just slide and save the casings, if it's fast, something is gonna dig in and cause fireworks anywho.

Which ones would you recommend? From my previous 400 life I seem to remember the only bungs I could find which apparently fitted were for a Ducati, 848 I think.

R&G do them specifically for gsxr4's. Not sure if there listed in the dealers books though. Just contact them direct.
