nc29-speedo drive. been through two now!
does anyone have a better alternative to that rubbish bit of plastic that goes on the front sprocket bolt to drive the speedo? ive been through 2 of them now. i know its not the actual cable thats stiff because i lubed it the other week, ive tried aralditing it in but that only works for a few days. can anyone find an alternative, or where can i buy a new one. does anyone else share this problem? cheers. josh.

You are not getting the needle in place properly so it snapps quickly. I have had it before but not on a CBR

"i know its not the actual cable thats stiff because i lubed it the other week"
>what did you use on the cable? and if the cable is Teflon.. thats the problem! oil and Teflon cables do not like each other, the cable swells inside the case and jams.
the yellow plastic bit. not had a problem with mine at all. still the original one from Mr Honda as far as i know.
are you buying new ones or 2nd hand? id buy new, if it breaks with in 6-12 months you may be able to get it replaced under warranty ...... do NEW parts have a warranty period like electricals?

If it is the same as the NC30 one then PM user gazzahh as he made a few alloy ones..very trick and super pimp.
He also sometimes sells on ebay - HRC stem plus, mirror blanks etc.
A top guy and sure he'd flog you one if he had one.
