NC30 to NC29 swingarm swap

Post by Hondahead69 »

Hello, I have a nc29 that was shipped to the united states that im in process of fixing up.

I love the look of the single side swingarm on the VFR400 and I was wondering if its possible to swap the single side swingarm to the nc29 frame. Has anyone ever done this or seen it done.

I guess my main question is if it would offset the balance of the bike, I know with enough time and money anything can be done, but what do you guys think?

Thanks,
Shane

NC30 swingarms have been fitted to all sorts of bikes so it should be possible to do.

No, it wouldn't upset the balance of the bike, NC30's don't use any sort of counterbalance for the extra weight on the left (and the muffler is also on the left, unlike NC29's).

I don't think it worth do this just for view... I think better to check handling of the bike - if it will be better it worth to change...

If you have the money and you want it on your bike, go 4 it.

This is not just you have money - burn them and be happy... I as see not too much people do this and I heard this is heavier. My opinion is "view" not main reason for such changes - better to change to VFR\RVF and view is more harmonic on this bike. If the handling better - go and change it.

Change to a vfr just for the looks?? ba. I'd rather just take its single sided swingarm and put it on the cbr, even though its heavier. Like I said, if hondahead69 wants it on his bike and he's happy with a few extra kg's so be it. Thats my opinion.

ps: If ya really that concerned about the weight, go on a diet.

cheers
