Continous problem
Hi all, some of you may of read about my problem a couple of weeks ago, but for those who haven't, here goes.
My bike rides fine when cold, but when it gets to about 90degrees it coughs and splutters all the way through the revs 6k onwards and just doesn't go anywere. I think it is a problem that is caused by temperature coz as i say it always rides fine untill around 90 degrees!? I don't have a clue what's wrong with it, some people have told me that they thinks it's an electrical problem, has anyone else got any ideas judging by these symptoms? I am pretty sure that it is something to do with the temp but i don't know why it doesn't ride properly when hot, so i might be completely wrong i don't know! What could it be?
Any help will be very much appreciated as always,
Cheers guys!

Re: Continous problem
Hiya, my fzr did this when is was over rich, or maybe your choke isn't quite turning off completely. Or try checking if the air filter is clean.
Hope you get it sorted.
Cheers

Re: Continous problem
Typical temperature related problems will include fuel vacuum/supply lines becoming softer with heat and getting squashed. Check that the tank etc isn't crushing hoses.
Still might be electrical, as the reg/rec can only shed so much heat when it builds up.

Re: Continous problem
could just be overheating, check your coolant pipes for cracks, radiator for leaks. take off water pump give it a check over and a clean

Re: Continous problem
hello........how does the bike idle whilst warm?if its normal then it rules out choke being stuck on!!!!!!
because the problem is continous its more than likely mechanical and not electrical but to be on the safe side its maybe worth while doing a few electrical tests, battery charge rate etc.......
it sounds as if the bike is running rich just enough for it to run terrible up the rev range and when it heats up it becomes more apparent.

Re: Continous problem
My money is with a knackered hose or something that can be affected when hot.
Do you run a fan? If you kept it cold would it be fine?

Re: Continous problem
How long has your bike done this ? Did you do anything at all to the bike before it started messing around ? I had a similar problem with my NSR ,found it to be a frayed cable shorting out when the engine got up to temperature. As said before ,check cables and pipes .Hope you sort it soon.
