Seat lug broken off - Any ideas on Repairs?

Post by CarlosFandango »

The VFR400 (NC30 - R3N Model '92) has a broken seat lug where the front seat pad bolts onto the seat unit, looks like someone had tried to prise the seat up.

These seem to be a weak point on the body work, I have tried epoxy resin but it failed in the cold weather - too rigid. When I take the seat unit off it breaks easily.

Not sure what to try next, anyone got a solution to this, I can't be the only one with this problem?

The Haynes manual shows the seat attaching at the rear, mine has two lugs either side of the seat.

Thanks

Carlos
