NC30 Indicator Problems

Post by jamie125 »

Have a problem with my indicators, they seem to have a mind of their own and only come on when and if they feel like it, sometimes they are fine, other times they will only come on about 10 seconds after putting them on, other times not at all. I cleaned out the switch and after that they seemed fine but have checked them again today and the old problems are back  . Any other ideas as to what it could be?

Check the connectors that go through the nose cone and under the rear subframe, also take the lenses off and remove the bulbs and spray some wd40 in there to get the sprinng loaded terminals moving, they sometimes seize with rust and crap. then obviously check all the bulbs.

haven't checked the bulbs as when they want to work all four indicators do work, but will try this. Just seems wierd to me that you can almost count 10 seconds every time and they will work, did change the relay, and the same thing happened. Although this was a second hand one.

could be the switch, mine was stiff and wasn't working properly, a strip and clean fixed it though

The indicator switches are notorius for delaying the idnicators on nc30's.

Take it apart and clean it (removing grease and other build up) using some electrical contact cleaner. I also scuff the switch contacts with some sandpaper or emery so that fresh metal is showing.

Works every time if you take your time and clean it thoroughly.

Indicators? What are they for then?

I don't use mine much :ninja: but might give the switch a good clean. It's annoying when they don't work. There's no delay on mine but they can be a little temperamental.
