Mainly a lighter rotor approx 800g vs 1800g so faster spin up. You'd need a mouting plate from G Force in California and I am not sure they ahd any left- they were snapped up on here pretty sharpish...

have a look at their site - mngforce.typepad - or thereabouts - that in google should get you it.. Superb work.

ill have a look later.

right we have got the generator out, there is some variation in colour to the coil coatings but no burning. also 8 of the conacats are dirty/rusty unlike the rest that are shiny. could this be it, would cleaning them up help or does it not work like that. the coating is lighter in colour around the dirty contact section (the 8 contacts around the wiring conection are the ones)

cheers dave

It cost me £150+ to have it delivered after customs got me..and you need a K5-K8 genny and rotor.

If you can get a plate then you are in...I think Rick O, Smev, Lange, Ronni B, Lasse and probably Cammo/Dataracer got on that I am aware of...

i can make the plate ;) i own my own engineering firm so thats not a prop even hav the right material to make one. the k2 genny and rotor looked the same, bolt pattern etc and have bought it 1hr or so ago. If its no good wen it comes ill flog it. Couldnt see the rotor fully in the image so not sure if its drilled like the k5.

Cheers dave

dave_c24 wrote:cheers for the replys guys, i get 40v ac from each of the generator wires and 0.4ohms on the alternator windings and no earthing out on any of them. rectifier is good as has been replaced battery is new. think im going to take the generator out to see if its in any way like CMSMJ1 old one. other than that i dont know what to do.

would a NC24 generator fit the NC30?
Yes it would.

Isnt' it an 18 pole generator? 3 phase x 6? if you have one darker section you might have burned out a phase which could be breaking down under load / heat.
