I'm wondering if there are differences in the rear shock (other than features, I'm talking length, spring rate, etc) between an '88 and '92+ NC-30? Looking to order a Penske and their book only has '92+.
Also if anyone has experience with an HRC type rear link, I was curious how that might affect the linear spring rate curve, if there are any changes aside from ride-height.
Thanks!

Re: NC-30 Shock Differences between years?
The physical sizes were the same for all the shocks - 1989 -1994
The 1989 did not have a remote res, the 90-onwards did.
Penske will sort you out.
There was a lad on here a while back, EddieHRCrider (I think) and he was on BARF too..he had a Penske on his moto..8895 model? That sound right?

Which model makes no difference, Penkse shocks are all modular... mine has a remote reservoir but the bike says it's an '89... odd. Is the physical dimensions the same as an RVF too?

RVF top mounts are different...but regards length etc I am not sure. Think theya re the same,.
I use an RS250 shock that is 315mm (think) along with an RVF linkage and the rear is pretty high and works very well.

IIRC it's 5mm different between RVF and VFR, shocks themselves are identical mounting but the RVF has a ride height adjuster on the top while the VFR bolts direct to the frame.
