not used the mercury one pal but i borrowed a set of them cheapy ones with dials off fleabay which were out of sync at ambient pressure so i decided on the carb tune, when i was asking around which one to get some people were a little worried that the rods in the tubes would give false readings if the bushes got worn etc .all i can say is its brill just make sure its upright when using it so as to get as little drag from the bushes as poss but thats just my ocd talking really mate . the rods have enough weight in them to give a steady accurate reading imo.

An inaccurate gauge is worse than no gauge at all .
Did you get it direct from Morgan with the case . I bet: yes.

Just watching NW200 practice; cracking weather and commentary/footage.

Talking of carb balancing do you guys know the best place to get the adapters?
I've got a set of Davida gauges and they are good but the brass adapters are complete shoite. Very little metal left after the threads been cut on them.
I've broken a couple of the 5 mm ones now really easily, they sent me a spare for free but he didn't half moan about it and that it must be my fault! Put me right off wanting to pay over £5 each for any more. Does someone make nylon ones as I think they will seal a lot better than the loose fitting brass ones? :grin:

Also just ordered a 700° thermal gun for less than £11 off fleabay.
Will test it on boiling water before I use it though.

Don't put that gun in water; it will completely fook it :grin:

Try the Morgan site;they do both brass and nylon;

All gauge tubes are about the same inner dia.

Davida; like owt else USED to be good, pity nearly all UK stuff has turned to shite. :down:

Yes; I have seen your posts on it previously Boris.
Was it from you mini days and twin chokes . ?

I looked and saw they were still available new , ( still only about £40) but was concerned on how altering one airscrew will effect other carbs on the bank and thought going continuously backwards and forwards could be frustrating.
Just a personal experience I suppose.
Actually it was touch and go which I choose but the price from Morgan plus the case and free delivery clinched it.

Also considered liquid manometers but the fluid evaporates usually and gets spilt if accidents occur.Or worse; sucked up the pipes/bubbles.

Will report back on quality and experiences once it arrives.
