Regulator/Rectifier location vfr400 nc24

Post by fasttom » Sat Dec 29, 2012 11:38 am

Having a few problems locating the regulator/rectifier on my 1987 VFR400 nc24. Have looked all over the bike and cannot locate which is bizarre. The bike also seems to get power fine and charges perfectly with an Oxford charger (13.7 Volts). There doesnt seem to be any loose wires or spare connectors which also seems very odd.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Cheers

It *should* be mounted under the battery box :peace:

mmm confusing there is nothing mounted underneath the battery holder. I have found what looks like a regulator/rec mounted under the wiring harness connector block, however I am still unsure as to if this is a reg/rec as usually in my experience they tend to have cooling fins to dissipate heat and what I have found is flat.

I fitted an R6 5SL one to mine.

Thats the fella.

Depending on the model of NC21/NC24 it will be flat or have fins. The bracket will dissipate some heat.

Here is a picture of the bracket removed and hanging down (the regulator is still attached)
