Coming to do my valves, got everything off down the actually checking the valve clearance. However, as per haynes I cannot work out what valves are my inlets and exhausts for whatever cylinder.
All that it says is 'EXL INL EXR EXL' or them sort of markings. I align T1 marking and it says to check cylinders 2 and 4 inlet valves
Where are they, I could do with a diagram showing me which valves are which and what cylinder they belong to...
Cheers

Re: NC29 valve help
Got to say having never done this before myself until last year I had the very same question, although I thought it was as you say the thing that threw me was the EX/IN printed on the cam heads. Hence I asked that very question.dunkenb wrote:can you not work out by number of valves? i.e. 4 per cylinder and the in lets on the carb side exhausts at the front??

Re: Re: NC29 valve help
No. That'll be the firing order.paddy_nc29 wrote:Cheers, what is the cylinder order 1324?
Cylinders are 1234 from left to right as if you were sat on the bike, the inlets are at the rear/carb side of the engine - 2 inlets & 2 exhaust valves per cylinder.
Are you sure that you are up to this - it's all quite basic stuff.....

Re: Re: NC29 valve help
I appreciate your reply, however, it's the first 4 stroke i've ever worked with, every other bike i've had is a 2 stroke all being single cylinders.phil x wrote:No. That'll be the firing order.paddy_nc29 wrote:Cheers, what is the cylinder order 1324?
